Unofficial Google Site About Making Adsense Revenue

My New 2012 Approach To Building My AdSense Income

This year started great but is ending on a woefully terrible note for me. When 2011 started I was making $1,500 a month in passive income from my AdSense account.  Everything was on the rise and I thought things were finally starting to click on all cylinders.

The first two Panda updates benefited me greatly.  While other webmasters were complaining that they were getting hammered I was doing better than ever.

I took a trip to Ireland in the middle of October (right when my online income starts to really pick up) and when I got back everything changed.

The third Panda update hit me like a ton of bricks.  Two of my highest producing sites, of which I have spent countless hours on, feel from Google grace.

They both went from being on page one number one to page two rejects. The next day I went from making approximately $50 a day to a little less than $16.00 a day.  Ouch!

I am sure you think I am about to start raving about how I hate Google and so forth.

Not in the least bit.  I have already done that when I go hit hard in the beginning on 2010 and it did not solve anything.

Google is king of the search engine realm and stays that way because nobody quite knows how Google works or what they plan to do next.

I think sometimes they change their system just to teach so called masters of SEO like me a lesson: you are not as good as you think you are and at any moment we can turn a self-proclaimed SEO guru into a sniveling and complaining bum.

Why did my websites fall from page one?  I have no idea.  These were definitely of the highest quality I could muster.  I researched and wrote all the content myself. I interviewed people within their niche.  I added custom pictures and banners.

But that is the story of the Big G.  They are about a predictable and consistent as Oregon weather.  It could be snowing in the morning, sunny in the mid-day and raining in the evening.

Who the hell knows what the engineers at Google are thinking and I am not in the business of trying to get inside their mind.

They have done this to me before and each time they do I rebound better than before.

So for 2012 what is my rebound plan?

I will do as follows:

  • Start more micro-niche websites
  • Only get .COM websites
  • Only start product related websites and stay away from topics that are service oriented.
  • Pick keywords that have an average CPC of at least $2.00
  • Make my content useful and scan every post for accuracy and spelling
  • Learn new tactics and techniques.  The game has changed and what worked at the beginning of this year no longer applies.
