Huge Earnings Dip During Summer Months

Filed under: Adsense,Google Adsense Revenue,Internet Marketing — Peter204 @ 7:50 pm August 29, 2011

I cannot stand the summer.  June, July and August are three months that I do not look forward to.

In fact, as I’m writing this post I am finding myself getting excited because I just realized that there is three more days left of summer and soon the nightmare will be over.

From an Internet marketing and AdSense earnings standpoint these three months are brutal.  The dip that I and others experience is unbelievable!

Quite frankly I go from being in the $70-$100 per day range to barely breaking $20 a day. It would not be so unbearable if I just suffered a slight drop but when you see your Google AdSense dip by over 50% it kind of puts a damper on things.

Many other Internet marketers who make money with AdSense have similar experiences.  A few are fortunate enough to only experience a 4% drop, which is not bad at all, but many are reporting a 20-50% decline in revenue just like me.

It seems like most people seem to make the most money during the spring and fall months. Granted, a lot of it depends on your niche.  If its a product or service that tends to be seasonal then you can expect huge fluctuations during the year.

Here is an interesting forum discussion about the matter here on Hub pages.

Anyway, the reason is obvious.  People are not at their computer as much.  When its sunny and the weather is good people usually are more inclined to engage in outdoors activities.  Families and couples go to the beach, surfing, fishing, camping, host outdoor BBQs and a slew of other things that take them away from their computers.

Less Internet volume means means less volume to your website everyday.  Less volume to your website means less clicks.  Less clicks mean less money. Your AdSense income your make is totally based on organic traffic.  If that rises then your income rises.  If that falls then your income will do likewise.  It is that simple.

Kind of takes the fun out of summer.  Before I became an Internet marketer I used to enjoy these months.  Now I look forward to them being over.  It has consistently been like this for the last three years.  At first I thought it was a fluke but it is not.  Good thing I have a job and do not totally depend on my AdSense earnings to totally live off on.
